![]() I'm not expert in PCs - always preferring my good old reliable (mostly) Mac equipment at every turn. Like the loss of Time Machine, the quality of the keyboard and screen, about whether my specialist mouse will be compatible.įrankly I could do with some guidance as to what machine and screens might be good to look into (replacing a 2018 28" iMac). Has anyone here made a similar move? I worry about font compatibility (some old documents use ancient legacy fonts! This department had artworks dating back decades), plus I worry about all sorts of stupid stuff. I can also forsee countless problems in the transition. ![]() ![]() Yes, I can see that it does make sense to have a PC instead of the Mac. OK, I can't currently print from the Mac (have to export PDF to a USB stick, then take that to a PC that is allowed on the network and print from there using Acrobat!), nor do I have access to network folders, wired broadband, or have external backups made etc. The organisation I work for as a Graphic Designer is forcing me to move from my beloved Mac to a PC (something to do with PSN compliancy - or somesuch spurious reason).
